“A brand new methodology has been proposed for extending the traces of the Magnetic Telegraph throughout rivers and bays. It’s proposed to assist the wires in an elevated place, by the use of elliptic balloons. These balloons, being every 60 toes in size, will assist about 40 kilos every moreover its personal weight. The price won’t exceed $200 every, being made from skinny varnished fabric and inflated with hydrogen fuel. A small pipe 1.four inch in diameter shall be prolonged to every balloon, by the use of which the fuel within the balloon could also be often replenished.”
